Images paste into agents, and Super+Tab and the workspace dots stay put
Pasting a screenshot into an agent works, a compositor setting in Settings can no longer hide the workspace dots, the layout button and Super+Tab, and on a new install, logging in unlocks the keyring.
Highlights
Pasting an image into an agent works
Pasting a screenshot into Claude Code did nothing: agent sessions could not reach your desktop's clipboard. Sessions without a sandbox now can. Sandboxed sessions still cannot, by design.
A compositor setting can no longer hide the workspace dots, the layout button and Super+Tab
Choosing Scrolling under Settings → Misc → Compositor while on the Tiling desktop made the shell talk to a compositor that was not running. The bar lost its workspace dots and layout button, and Super+Tab did nothing. That setting now only applies while its compositor is the one running, and Settings says when it is being ignored.
This setting never changed how windows are arranged. That is the layout button in the bar, or the desktop you pick at login.
On a new install, logging in unlocks the keyring
The password you type at the login screen never reached the keyring, so the first app that needed it asked for the password again. A new install now opens its keyring at login.
A computer that already has a keyring may still be asked once more after this update. The next update moves an existing keyring over as well.

The About section still named the repository by its old APEX name.

Published to every image tag (apex, daily, edge, gaming-mesa, gaming-nvidia, rime). All of them are the edge channel today. This page explains the release; it is never consulted by an update. What a machine installs is decided by the registry and the image signature (see Security). Machine-readable: 2026.09.29.2.json.
If something is wrong
Go back to the image you were running before this one. It becomes the default at the next boot; your files and settings stay as they are.
sudo rime rollback && sudo systemctl rebootOn an APEX-named system the command is apex. You can also pick the previous entry in the boot menu. More in Rolling back and Recovery.
